Ringle Library
The year was 1930. Dr. Wilcox had served the medical needs of the Leech Lake Area for about 30 years and was getting very tired. One evening, after a hard days work in his office, he sat down behind his desk, put his head down to rest a bit, fell asleep and never woke up. A young doctor, fresh out of medical school, whose name was Ringle, but everyone pronouced Ringel, came to Walker from a farm in Southern Minnesota to replace Dr. Wilcox and resume his busy medical practice. In 1931, Dr. Ringle, built a new hospital, a new home and he and his wife Clara had a baby boy - all in the same year! Dr. Ringle continued to serve the medical needs of the Leech Lake area for the next 46 years, until he also passed away in 1976. This library was built in his memory and his family wishes that you will use it for your pleasure and enjoyment.
