2018 Results Thank you! We had 337 registered for the 2018 event, 247 finishers. Mark you calendars for 2019! We will broadcast an email message (about Labor Day) when 2019 registration opens.
Thank you for making the 2017 event a huge success! The event donated $5,000 to the Walker Area Community Center, $1,000 to Walker Area Pregnancy Support, $300 to the American Legion Riders and $250 to Walker Youth Hockey. In 2018, we plan to allow for 75 additional participants. Still, the event may fill early again. We have a few improvements in mind.... Thanks again!! See you at the 2018 Waddle Like a Duck!
The Walker Waddle (formerly City on the Bay 10k) includes a Half Marathon, 10K and 5k. Scenic courses start and finish lakeside in the Walker City Park. These walking/running events kick off the "Old Fashioned" 4th of July celebration in Walker, Minnesota. Festivities also include kids games, a beer garden, a grand parade and fireworks at dark.
Chip start and finish. Finish line closes at 11 am. At least seven water/Gatorade stops. Gel packs at miles 2.5, 5.75 and 7.75. Medical aid/drop station at miles 5.75 and 7.75. Porta-Johns at miles; 1, 1.66. 2.5. 5.75, 7.75, 11.44, 12.1. Most of the course is on blacktop. Three+ miles is on gravel road. Flat course except a couple of pretty good hills between miles 5 and 5.75. No dogs. No strollers.
